We are a two-form entry school, taking in 60 children each year.
A visit to the school will clearly show the progression from informal workshops to more formal organisation as the children grow older. If you would like to be shown around the school, then please telephone to receive Open Day information. We like to think that we retain the best in traditional teaching whilst at the same time employing modern methods and equipment. We realise that parents seek academic excellence and this, we aim to achieve.
The atmosphere in the classroom promotes self-reliance and self-discipline and encourages many activities. It also gives the teacher a chance to work with individual children. For all basic skills, such as reading, writing and mathematics, every child works through the National Curriculum according to his/her ability.
Reception children undertake 'Baseline Assessments'.
Children in Year 2 and Year 6 are assessed in accordance with Government regulation (a results table is published annually). In Year 4, children take the Performance Indicator Tests which compare achievement in Literacy and Numeracy with Intelligence Quotient.
